5 Big Mistakes To Avoid When Choosing
Wedding Photographer

Hi my name is Greg Moss and I’ve been a professional photographer since 2005. I’m
originally from Seattle but moved here a 1.5 years ago and love the area. Lot of rain but not as much as back home.

Anyway, enough about me. I wanted to share with you the 5 Biggest Mistakes To Avoid
When Choosing A Wedding Photographer. I put this together to help you make the right
decision because I know how stressful it can be planning a wedding.

Hope this report helps you and please feel free to contact me with any questions or if I
can help in any way.

Big Mistake #1: Hiring a family member!

The beauty of digital pictures is that so many people can take up the wonderful hobby of
photography. Some of my friends and family take beautiful photos and some of them are
amazing.

Many well-meaning friends and family offer to photograph the wedding for free which
can be very attractive. This is all good until after the wedding when you learn that they
don’t know how to shoot in a dark venue without dark blurry photos. Even worse is if
they don’t have a proper backup system and loses your precious wedding day photos.

The one thing you’ll look at and treasure ten, twenty, thirty years after your wedding
day are the fond memories you’ll feel as you look your pictures from that day.

Big Mistake #2: Hiring Based on the type of camera equipment the
photographer carries.

Here is a big warning for you:

Be careful of the photographer who spends a lot of time talking about the camera
equipment they shoot with. Photographers love talking about their gear, heck it’s one of
my favorite topics, but the job of the photographer is to show you amazing images. It’s
not talking to you about equipment.

Big Mistake #3: Not meeting your photographer before reserving your date
with him.

I do not care how amazing you think photographers imagery is on their website or the
prints you have seen, you need to meet with them in person before you reserve your
wedding date.

This is one of the most important days of your life and there is one person there to catch
all those memories – the photographer!

Make sure your personality clicks with the photographer. You want every part of your
wedding to be special and the photographer plays a huge role in this. Take a little time to
sit down and chat over coffee.

Big Mistake #4: Not Paying attention to the photographers style.

Make sure you can see a consistent style throughout the photographers portfolio. This is
crucial when deciding to who to go with. There are different styles such as dramatic, all
candid, posed and photo-journalistic.

I’d be happy to explain these in more detail for you. I’d be happy to talk over the phone
or just send me an email with your questions. My number is 413.274.7347 and my email is

If his style is all over the place you won’t know what style you will end up with on your
wedding day. Of course make sure you love his style whether it is high key, dramatic, all
candid, or posed and photo-journalistic.

Big Mistake #5: SIGN A CONTRACT!

This is to protect you!

The contract reserves your wedding date and protects you and the photographer. If the
photographer does not have a contract run for the hills.

Seriously, I’m not kidding about this. Please make sure you follow this one tip from this
report.

Hope this report has helped you and wishing you the very best wedding.
